Extended Scope Respiratory Physiotherapist

Cheryl O'Neill (BSc Hons, MCSP, HCPC, IN-MP)

Our Clinical Lead Cheryl, specialises in the treatment of children with complex neuro-disability. As an Extended Scope Practitioner Cheryl works enabling Children and Young People with complex neuro-disability to optimise their quality of life in settings such as schools, home, respite facilities, colleges and other daytime settings. She is an Independent Non-Medical Prescriber and utilises this additional skill set to help optimise medical management as well as to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions. She has extensive experience within the NHS spanning the breadth of acute and community children’s services including within a Children’s Tertiary Trust. In order to develop specialist respiratory knowledge and skills she completed a post-graduate module in Paediatric Respiratory Care with University College London in 2018. Cheryl is currently completing an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice and will soon qualify as an Paediatric Advanced Practice Physiotherapist.

Cheryl’s experience qualifies her to provide exceptional care for patients under the umbrella of “complexity” and she is fully competent to provide expert assessment and implement care recommendations supported by high-level clinical judgement.

Cheryl is passionate in relation to holistic patient-centred care of Children and Young People with highly complex needs, providing whatever support is needed to be able to achieve the best outcomes for her patients.

Highly Specialist Paediatric Dietitian

Conagh Ellis (Bsc Hons - Nutrition and Dietetics)
(MBDA, HCPC)

Our Highly Specialist Dietitian, Conagh, provides comprehensive paediatric dietetics services with a particular interest in Children and Young People with complex neuro-disability and severe global developmental delay. He has extensive experience working with enterally fed children and adults including having worked within a Children’s Tertiary Trust. Conagh has also worked with the Australian HPRA as a Policy Support Officer, updating healthcare policy and advising professionals in relation to policy.

Conagh has considerable experience looking after complex patients and this has equipped him to utilise a high level of clinical knowledge and reasoning to influence a broad spectrum of complex presentations using nutrition.


Conagh is passionate about optimising nutrition for Children and Young People with complex neuro-disability and works tirelessly to continue his own learning to facilitate this. He has undertaken significant CPD relating to blended diet and is now in a position to offer guidance and training for families and carers to help them achieve a healthy blended diet for their enterally fed young people, a rare and sought after skill set.

Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioner

Lyndsey Peace (MSc, APNP, BSc, RCN, NMC, INMP)

Since 2009, Lyndsey has amassed a great deal of experience within multiple NHS Trusts ranging from PICU to Community. Having completed an MSc in 2020, she has worked with a Children’s Tertiary Trust providing community advanced practice services to Children and Young Adults with complex neuro-disability, complex health needs, and severe global developmental delay.

Lyndsey's significant experience in community nursing roles includes Children’s Community Sister, Health Visitor and now Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioner. She is an Independent Non-medical Prescriber and is highly skilled in clinical examination. She commonly treats conditions such as ear infections, respiratory infections, constipation, reflux, and wounds, including pressure areas. She can provide expert key health professional guidance including appropriate multidisciplinary team referrals for any health problem.

Lyndsey also has a wealth of experience supporting and advising in relation to Education Health Care Plans and Continuing Care Assessments. Lyndsey can provide expert assistance to ensure that her patients have all necessary provision in place in order to optimise their quality of life and care.

Lyndsey is our lead in relation to governance around packages of care and medications management and the specialist skillset she has to offer to Children and Young People with complex neuro-disability are rare to come by. Lyndsey is an invaluable asset to patients where local services may be unable to fully meet their needs.
